SWEET, Robert Harold Sweet

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Robert, surrounded by his loving family on December 4, 2025 at 76 years of age. Loving husband and best friend of Barbara (nee Chittle) with whom he shared 58 wonderful years of marriage. Cherished and devoted father of Deborah Mallen and husband Jeff, Robert Jr. and wife Kristie, and Jennifer Mallen and husband Shawn. Adored Pa of Alexandra (Kyllian), Tyler, Kale, Olivia (Johnny), Bobby, Taylor, Evan, and Clarissa. Great Pa of Ari, Margo, Orlando Val and baby girl Guyenet on the way.

Predeceased by his parents Harold and Margaret Sweet and step mother Rosalind. Dear brother of  Richard Sweet (Alice), late Dennis Sweet, late Wendy Hunter (late Bert), Gregory Sweet, half brother of Ethel “Rocky” Barnes and late Ernest Farough, and step brother of late Patricia Burton (Don), Janet Ross (John) and David Munholland (Maryann). Robert will also be missed by the entire Chittle family, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

At the young age of 15, Robert started driving truck for the family business-Harold Sweet & Sons Trucking. His love of trucking led him to the purchase of his own truck that he drove for Central Transport and Ringle Express. In 1976, he was called to Chrysler Transportation where he continued to work as a dedicated truck driver until his retirement in 2008. In addition to driving for Chrysler, he ran a small business- Sweet B’s Water Supply. After retirement, Robert and Barbara spent many winters in Florida enjoying many rounds of golf. He was very proud to get 2 hole in ones in his short golfing career.

Robert was a devoted member of Kingsville Baptist Church and enjoyed his time volunteering at various church activities. Above all, Robert was happiest when surrounded by the love of his family and friends. His unwavering love and devotion to his family will never be forgotten. A special thank you to the ICU Team at Erie Shores Health Care for your care and compassion.
