Kornya SylviaKORNYA, Sylvia Margaret (nee Lemak) – Passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in her 78th  year. 

Beloved wife for 55 years of the late Joseph Anthony Kornya (April 2015).  Cherished mother of Gary (Darlene) of Welland and Tom (Heather) of Oakville.  Proud and loving grandmother of Matthew, Melanie, Michael, Emily, Ben and Will.

Dear sister of Liz Lamarre and Eleanor Brunicione (Harry).  She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her father Frank Lemak.

Sylvia worked for over 25 years at Lewis & Krall Drug Store in Welland. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed reading, movies and spending time with her many friends. Sylvia was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, Ontario on Tuesday, October 6th from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m. 

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 307 Niagara Street, Welland on Wednesday, October 7th at 11:30 a.m. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Walker Cancer Centre or the Juravinksi Cancer Centre would be appreciated by Sylvia’s family.
