Margaret Anne “Teen” Syvret (née Thomson)

Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Margaret Anne “Teen” Syvret passed away at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Jim Syvret (2001).

Loved mother of David (Colleen) Syvret, Robert (Terri) Syvret, Nancy (Scott) Lawson, and Tina Syvret. Treasured grandmother of Davey (Megan), Danny (Whitney), Corey (Celina), Kaylyn (Leon), Bobby (Sam), Danny (Dana), and Tori (Riley). Adored great-grandmother of Hudson, Quinn, Barrett, Alissa, Kaiya, and Kahlie.

Dear sister and sister-in-law of “Chic” Thomson and Dorothy Thomson. Predeceased by her siblings Marjorie Shakespeare, Kathleen “Cassie” Thomson, Bill Thomson, Donald “Pete” Thomson, and Robert “Bob” Thomson.

Teen was born and raised in Waterdown, a town she cherished throughout her life. She was deeply committed to her community, serving with The Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Joseph Brant Hospital auxiliary. Teen was known for her warmth and dedication to her family, enjoying afternoons by the pool and creating memories filled with love and laughter.

A lifelong sports fan, Teen passionately followed her son David and grandsons Davey, Danny, and Corey in their hockey pursuits and celebrated her granddaughter Tori’s achievements in gymnastics and equestrian show-jumping. She was also a devoted season ticket holder for the Toronto Blue Jays, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will follow at Waterdown Cemetery. A private celebration of Teen’s life will be held at a later date.
