PERSINOV, Tania (nee LARGA)  –

On July 9, 2023, at the age of 79, surrounded by love, Tania Persinov (nee Larga), loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and sister, passed away peacefully, in her home in Toronto.

Tania is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George; their children, Vera (Mark), Ivanka (Simon), and Stephen (Cynthia); and grandchildren, Katrina, Natalia, Laura (Harvey), Emily, Timothy, Mason, Caleb, our miracle, Noah; and siblings, Petro, Penka, Maria, and Jifko, all of whom she loved deeply.

Tania survives in all of those who she has touched. Her children and especially, her grandchildren, have been blessed to spend precious time with Tania (or as they know her, Baba).

Their lives have been enriched by her kindness, generosity and wisdom. She sets an example for all, reminding us to always play music and dance at any opportunity. Most importantly, she would remind us to seek joy and happiness in the company of friends and family.

Her tenacity persisted in her final days, as she stubbornly refused to miss the wedding of her granddaughter, Laura, choosing to ascend to Heaven only after enjoying the celebration.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.

In memory of Tania, memorial contributions may be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or St. Joseph’s Hospital, Oncology Department, Toronto.
