TAYLOR, Margaret Elmina Rose Taylor

She was born in Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan, one hour after her twin sister, Mildred, to parents Marshall and Lorraine Reilly. Her sister Joan followed a few years later, completing their family. Margaret married her first husband, Leon Delmar Grose, and from that union came her two children, Steven and Cindy. She worked for the Operating Engineers for 16 years, making many friends along the way. Margaret lived a full and vibrant life, known for her love of gardening, especially weeding. She was famous for her turkey necks to “nibble” on, and her delicious homemade turkey jerky. She enjoyed playing cribbage, cherished time with family and friends, and never missed her nightly ritual of watching Wheel of Fortune. Margaret was predeceased by her father, Marshall; her mother, Lorraine; her sisters Millie and Joan; her first husband Del and her second husband Cliff; and her beloved cat, GinGin. Margaret is survived by her children, Steve (Mary) Grose and Cindy Durrell; her grandchildren, Monica (Jean-Pierre), Alanna (Greg), Shayna, Marshall, and Ava (Ryan); and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Elodie, Maude, and Etienne. She is also survived by extended family, and many wonderful friends and neighbours. Margaret left us on October 12th, 2025, the same day her mother Lorraine passed away in 1983. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses on the stroke ward at Kelowna General Hospital for their excellent care and compassion shown to Margaret during her final days. In honour of Margaret’s wishes, there will be no service held. Donations in her memory may be made to your local SPCA.
