EWIS, Terry Edward Frith – 

A Life Well-Lived – April 27, 1932 – July 19, 2023

Sadly, we announce the passing of Terry Lewis, who went peacefully, at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Terry will be missed by his loving wife, Pamela, of 69 amazing years; his children, Lorraine Green (Danny), Jeffrey (Heather), and Matthew (Connie); grandchildren, Carlie, Dryden, Jacob, Bethany, Courteney, and Jessica; great-grandchild, Atlas; and his sisters, Maureen Gard and Margaret Lacey.

Terry was born to Stanley and Hannah Lewis in Walthamstow, East London, England, in 1932.

Schooled in London as an Engineer, Terry moved to Canada in 1954 and accepted a position as an engineer on the Avro Arrow project. His wife, Pamela, soon followed and they first lived in Toronto, Canada. Terry would describe those years as the best of times.

Following the cancellation of the Avro Arrow, Terry pursued his professional engineering career and rose to hold positions as the Engineering Manager with Powerlite Sylvania and later as Manager of Manufacturing Engineering at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Canada. Terry had a thirst for knowledge and intellectual reading, enjoyed classical music and played in bands and orchestras. As as amateur painter, Terry loved art in many forms.

Terry was elected to public office as a Public School Board Trustee and over the years served on a variety of community boards and technical engineering committees.

Memorial Service will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., Reception to follow.
