TEWKESBURY, Elaine Tewkesbury

Elaine Tewkesbury, of Chatham, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance after a brief illness, at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clifford (1961) Humphrey and Madge (nee Smart) (2001), and stepdaughter to Raymond Toulouse (1998).

Elaine was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Tewkesbury (2020). She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Jeff (Sarah) Tewkesbury and Jarrod (Kyla) Tewkesbury, and her grandchildren Owen, Rachel, and Kole.

She is also predeceased by her siblings Bill and Bob Humphrey and remembered by her sister Joan Cooney, as well as her brother-in-law Dale (Marsha) Tewkesbury, and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine had a passion for shopping and delighted in preparing holiday feasts for her family. She expressed her love through gifts and food, and cherished attending her grandchildren’s activities—from sports to school plays.

She worked at various establishments including Brenda’s Hair Salon, Cargill Grain, Smart Talk Network, Tilbury Auto, and finished her career at the Chiropractic Wellness Center, retiring in 2018.

As per Elaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
