THACKERAY , Dawn Muriel Thackeray

Fruitland, ON – It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden death of Dawn Muriel Thackeray (Munt). She was born on February 20, 1945, in Halifax, Nova Scotia and died on July 31, 2025, at the Hamilton General Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario.
She is survived by her best friend and husband of 59 years, David Thackeray. Dawn and David met and started their lifelong journey in their first year of Saltfleet Highschool. Family is the most important thing to both, as they raised their daughter and son in Fruitland, Ontario.
Dawn was extremely gifted, hardworking, loving and a generous woman. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, is aware of just how extremely kind she was.
Her family is her greatest pride and joy. She loved bringing everyone together over various holidays; her brothers, her sister, and their families. Big family gatherings were her specialty. Dawn made sure to instill the great importance of family history and maintaining bonds with all.
She will be dearly missed and forever cherished by her husband, David Thackeray, her daughter Shannon Thackeray Miller (David Miller), her son, Sean Thackeray as well as reunited with her predeceased grandson, Cole Holtham (Thackeray). She will be dearly missed as well by her remaining grandchildren, Ryan Miller, Shannon Miller (Ryan Stirling), Nicholas Miller as well as her brother, Gary Munt (Joy Munt, predeceased) her sister, Karen Cooper and brother David Munt as well as her sister-in-law, Pat Thackeray Metcalf, numerous n
