THAR, Calvin Leroy Thar

With profound sadness, we share the gentle passing of Calvin Leroy Thar on October 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of family. Beloved husband to Claudia, dear father of Jonathan, loving Poppa to Spencer, Maggie, and their mum, Larissa Oakey, caring brother-in-law to Rob and Bev Phillips and Carole Thar. Cal was predeceased by parents Ken and Dora Thar, sister Nadine, brothers Keith and Don. Cal will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. An avid sailor and car enthusiast, Cal was a teacher at heart, positively impacting many lives as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. at Denning’s of Strathroy (www.strathroyfuneralhome.com), followed by a funeral service at 11:00a.m., also at Denning’s of Strathroy. In memory of Cal, donations may be made to the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Parkwood Hospital or the charity of your choice. Cal leaves an indelible mark on our lives—be like Calvin: take wonder in and care for our world, share your love generously, and be a force for good.
