The Reverend Dr. Kenneth B. Bice
August 6, 1949 - September 14, 2025
Passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Hospital on Sunday September 14, 2025 at the age of 76 years. Loved and missed by his wife of 51 years; Margaret (nee Cummins).
Loving brother-in-law to Robert and wife Wanda and Gordon and wife Kristine. Dear uncle to Joseph, Matthew, Christopher and Jennifer. Half-brother to Debra, Joseph, Diane and David (decseased).
One of Kenneth’s passions was the bagpipe. He was an accomplished piper having been a member of the 48th Highlanders of Canada, Retired Pipe Major of the Toronto Scottish Pipes and Drums and the Pipe Major of the Toronto Shriners’ Pipe Band. He participated in many parades and events over the years, including meeting Princess Anne on one of her visits to Canada. Not only did Kenneth play, he taught many young people, wrote music and even published many music compositions for the bagpipes.
Kenneth became a Mason with the Kilwinning Lodge in 1977 and held many senior positions including Worshipful Master, Grand Piper, District Deputy Grand Master and Secretary of many branches. He also became a member of the West Toronto Masonic Temple and acted as their Treasurer for a number of years.
Later in life, Kenneth decided to become an ordained minister with the Independent Anglican Church of Canada. He performed many weddings over the years throughout Southern Ontario including his own nephews and niece (also piping participants down the aisle). He officiated over many baptisms and funerals as well.
Kenneth was involved in his community including Treasurer of the Uxbridge Youth Centre and part-time Chaplain at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket. He also assisted the minister at Christ The King Church Graceland.
In his downtime, Kenneth enjoyed watching old movies, war and military documentaries and football (his favourite team was the Toronto Argos). He also enjoyed getting out on the golf course every now and then.
