THOMPSON–LAVALLEE, Heather Eileen – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Eileen Thompson, who died peacefully with her beloved husband Ray (Raymond) Lavallee by her side on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 69, at Pembroke Regional Hospital. Heather was predeceased by her parents Diana (Piper) and Edward Thompson. She was the loving sister of Donna Smith (Tom) of Huntsville and Brent Thompson of Orillia, and a devoted aunt to Thompson Smith (Jennie) and Jenny Smith (Matt), as well as a cherished great-aunt. Heather will be lovingly remembered by Ray’s children Erin and Evan Lavallee (Laura), and by grandchildren Frankie, Lucy, Andrew, Quinn, Charlie, and Jaymee. She will also be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Mary Anne Fleming and Nancy Myer, along with many relatives and lifelong friends including Lori, Barb, Sue, Deb, Sherry, and Kathy. Known affectionately as “H.T.”, Heather dedicated her career to broadcasting, working in Huntsville, Timmins, North Bay, and Orillia. Beyond her professional life, she gave generously of her time and energy to charitable causes, most notably helping to establish Gilda’s Club Barrie and the Terry Fox Chapter, supporting cancer patients and their families. Heather’s warmth, compassion, and ability to connect with people will be forever remembered by all who knew her. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Pembroke Regional Hospital for their care, with special gratitude to nurse Bethany. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring in Pembroke and Orillia, with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Parry Sound at a later date. As an expression of sympathy and in remembrance of Heather, the family invites donations to Pembroke Regional Hospital. Heather will be forever loved and deeply missed.
