It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Thompson announces his passing on July 13, 2025, in his 75th year. Beloved father of Shereen Thompson-Stratford (Chris Stratford) and proud father of River Thompson-Stevens. Richard was the loving partner of Susan Kern for 29 wonderful years. He will be deeply missed by Gary, Jessica (Scott), and Stacey (Craig), and fondly remembered by Gary, Morgan, Wesley, Addison, Alice, and great-grandson Abel.

Richard was the cherished brother of the late Gerry (Gene) Thompson, Edward (Bev) Thompson, and Sheila (Rob) Bellows. He will also be missed by many extended family members and friends.

Richard had a deep love for the outdoors—whether skiing and fishing in his younger years or simply enjoying nature. He especially cherished his time in Gaspé Bay, a place he lovingly called his “home.” He and Susan shared a passion for antiquing and flea markets, always enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

He will be remembered for his warmth, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. As per Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Richard’s memory.
