THOMPSON, Robert Sidney Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we share the peaceful passing of Robert “Bob” Thompson on Sunday September 28, 2025. Bob was a devoted and loving husband to Helene “Bonnie” (predeceased) for 60 years and cherished friend to many. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories. Bob was a proud and doted father to his four daughters: Diane (Carl), Tricia, Sandy (pre-deceased) (George), and Judy (Don). He often referred to them as daughters #1 to #4, each one being the apple of his eye. His love extended to his grandchildren Darryl (Danika), Meagan (Evan), Kaitlynn (Thomas), Kelsie (Derek), Peter and Matthew, and his great-grandchildren Wynter, Envy, Colton, Mackenzie, and Claire. Survived by his sister Betty (John predeceased) and sister-in-law Noreen (brother Doug predeceased).

Bob lived a life full of achievements and dedication. He obtained his pilot’s license, led numerous school fundraisers, and was a member of the Lion’s Club, Legion, Probus and West Hill Seniors Club. His commitment to community service was evident in his regular blood donations and events at the Legion and Probus. Bob had a mechanical mindset, undertaking the building of the family cottage. His long, successful career was in heating and air conditioning, both commercial and residential. In his retirement, Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, enjoying the special moments at the family cottage in the Kawartha Lakes, and exploring the world through his travels, often opting for cruises. Bob loved to dance, pursued ballroom, tap and rumba classes and was famously known for dancing the night away with all guests. Bob will be remembered for his jokes and family toasts, such as “To good health and happiness”, “Count your blessings” and “Three hugs a day, keeps the doctor away”. Bob was much loved by many and will be forever and deeply missed. A private family interment ceremony will be held at Pine Ridge memorial Gardens.
