Our beloved Nebert Hyacinth Thorpe peacefully passed away on Monday, September 29th, 2025.
Beloved son of Julian Garfield Thorpe and Gladys Munroe Thorpe (Both deceased). Loving best friend and spouse of Maureen Isa Thorpe, cherished brother of Julian Jr (Sonny) (Enid Thorpe) (Both deceased) and Isabella (Ashley Bain) (Both Deceased) and Edna (Cecil Greaves) (Both Deceased). Brother-in-law of Andre Jones, Margaret (Merrill) (Deceased) Khan. Beloved Uncle of Milinda Jones (Joe), Christopher Jones, Christian Khan, Jeffrey (Deceased) (Pat) Deverteuil, Donna (Earnest) Wilson, Theron (Karen) Graves, Lester (Irma) Thorpe, Lystra Thorpe, Jacqueline (Stafford) (Both Deceased), Michael (Pat) (Deceased). Cherished great uncle of Sharlene and Wayne Campbell, Lester (Cruz) Thorpe, and five others, Jeffrey and two others, Jazmin, Isa, Aaron, Hannah, Tracelle, Tori-Ann and Travis. Adored cousin to the Belgraves.

Born in Trinidad, Nebert displayed a striking presence, earning him the nickname “Stylish” and attracting the love of his life, Maureen. They immigrated to Canada and were soon surrounded by friends and family that appreciated Nebert’s quiet, dignified presence, his faith in God, and his boisterous laugh that would often cut through his gentle demeanor. Nebert would never hesitate to share his home with friends and family that needed a place to stay, no matter how long.

He was loved and will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME
