THROOP, Chris Throop

Born on November 12th 1961 in the Brockville Hospital, Chris spent his entire working life in the construction business. Starting with the Lasalle family and ending with the Knapp family. Both long time family friends. If you needed anything or help, Chris was there. Always willing to lend a hand.

Most days you could find Chris sitting outside enjoying the day with his friends. Except on Sundays which he could be found watching Nascar or playing poker with the boys

Chris is survived by his three children, Jessica (Tyler), Nicholas (Ania) and Michelle (Cameron); sister Cathe, and brother Warren (Betty). Grandchildren- Annika and Isla Hutchins, Alina and Nolan Throop and Maddox, Lennox and Hendrix McGuire, his Aunt Barb, cousins and nieces and nephews; also, by Debbie Macdonald, mother of his children.

He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Sandra, in-laws Albert and Ellen Steenwyk, brother-in-law Bill Dempsey and Uncle Donny Leizert.

The family would like to thank Pat Chapman, Mary Ann Henderson, Tracy Taylor and Rick Macdonald for all of the help the last couple months. It didn’t go unnoticed.

A celebration of Chris’ life will take place at the Irvine Funeral Home Reception Centre, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 1-3 pm. In honor of his memory, donations to the Brockville SPCA and Brockville Palliative Care unit would be appreciated.
