TOMLINSON, Barbara Ruth Tomlinson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara Ruth Tomlinson, on January 23rd, 2026.

Barb leaves behind her devoted husband George, with whom she shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together they lived and raised their family on Egremont Road in Warwick, building a life rooted in love, hard work, and community.

Barb will be deeply missed by her children Tracy, Marlene, and Bill (Marilyn), and by her grandchildren Marissa, Cody, Kyle (Nicole), Cheryl Lynn (Travis), Tammy (Ryan), William, and Andrew. She was also blessed to meet her two great-grandchildren in 2025, Violet and Alistair, who quickly became the light of her life.

Barb was predeceased by her parents Wallace and Doris Lowrie, and her brother Gary Lowrie. She was also fortunate to have a second family who meant the world to her: Dave, Lorraine, Jeannie, Joyce, Clayton, Archie, Helen, and Mary.

Barb was incredibly proud of her strong work ethic and the life she built. She was an accomplished seamstress and owned and operated her own business, Barb Tomlinson Camper & Tent Repair, for many years. Her skill, dedication, and independence were a source of pride to her and admiration from those who knew her.

She was also well known for her talents in the kitchen. Barb was crowned Forest Fair Bake Queen (Culinary Arts Queen)Β on manyΒ occasions over the years.Β  Baking, cooking, and sharing her creations with family and friends brought her great joy.

Barb was an excellent league bowler and was famously unbeatable at cornhole. She had a great eye, a remarkable swing, and a competitive spirit that made everyone laugh β€” except, of course, when they lost.

Barb and George shared many friendships over the years through the Odd Fellows, extended family, and their love of travel. They spent countless hours attending steam shows and exhibitions, and enjoyed many trips throughout Ontario and the United States in their trailer with their son Bill and Marilyn, showing engines, tractors, and equipment.

Above all else, Barb was a loving and devoted family woman. She was the sweetest aunt, always happy to see a visitor, and always ready with a smile, a conversation, or something good to eat. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kim, and to the compassionate nursing staff who provided such wonderful care to Barb over the years.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 30th, 2026 from 5-8 pm at Denning’s of Forest, 9 James St. S. The Oddfellows Lodge will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 4:30 and conduct a memorial service at 4:45pm.

Funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 pm with visitation one hour prior.Β  IntermentΒ at Warwick cemetery.

In keeping with Barb’s wishes, donations in her memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, in lieu of flowers.
