TRIMBLE, Roger Golden Trimble
October 15, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather who left us on October 15, 2025 at the age of 89. Roger was the son of Lorne and Thelma (Hutchins). Beloved husband of the late Sandra Lee (McLeay) for 62 fun filled years.  Devoted father to Dale (Becky) and Kim Damm (Jeff). Grandfather to Chris, Brad (Natasha), Mark, Joshua (Kristy), Mathew (Sara), Jennifer (James) and Nathan. Great grandfather to Cole, Lucas, Sydney, Kelsey, Jeremy, Aubrey, Wesley, Emma, Madelyn and Bodhi.  Brother to Murray (Joyce) and brother-in-law to Ian (Cheryl).  Also four nephews Ian (Sharon), Darren (Tina), Jason (Susan) and Robbie (Marlene). Roger was born April 2, 1936 at home on Road 11 in Gosfield North Township, where he resided his entire life.  He was born a farmer and remained one his entire life, his crops just changed.  He graduated from Ridgetown Agriculture College in 1954. He then worked for Guelph university in the poultry department. He also worked for Neuhauser Hatchery and was employed in 1969 at GM where he acquired his second family especially Billy who farmed with us until Roger retired in 2008.  He loved working at Colasanti’s part-time and always felt the best years of your life were the working years, which is why he never stopped because he made countless lifelong friends too many to list. He enjoyed 50+ years of NASCAR, cards, bowling leagues, fiddle contests, and was a member at the Comber Legion Branch 241. Everyone enjoyed their annual pig roast parties that started as one day events, which became two days, and then grew to a week of camping for some. Roger has had tremendous gratitude for his life and has told us many times he has lived heaven on earth and what gets better than that. Thank you to Dr. Dorianne Butler for her care. It was Roger’s wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Erie Shores Hospice or the Comber Legion Branch 241 by contacting Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Avenue East Essex (519-776-4233).
