COFFIN, Tristram Edward ‘Ted’ Coffin Obituary

COFFIN, Tristram Edward ‘Ted’ – (28 November 1925 – 28 September 2015) – Following a brief illness, Ted Coffin quietly passed away surrounded by members of his family.

Ted was born in Ottawa, the first child of Laurance Leland and Elizabeth M. (Bartlett) Coffin, After completing his formal education, Ted served as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy. Following an Honourable Discharge, he had a civilian career at Dalhousie University, Halifax.

In his retirement, Ted spent his time enjoying his family, serving the community through the Knights of Columbus, and volunteering at his church. Ted was predeceased by his parents, his wife Audrey Beryl (Stevens) and his oldest son Tristram Thomas Laurance.

He is survived by his sister Ann Young (Ottawa), his children Steven (Lorraine), Mary (Howard) Byrne, Audrey (David) Tufts, Michael (Janise), Patricia Hurley, Gregory (Mary Brocklehurst), Catherine (Doug) Hannah, and Frances (Bill) Buott; and by 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Ted would have appreciated donations made in his name to Community food banks or soup kitchens, the Canadian Cancer Society or an organization of your choice.
