TUFFORD, Denise Ione Tufford
November 15, 1956 - July 12, 2025It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Denise (Tufford) Chard, a beloved daughter, wife, sister, step mom, aunt, grandma, great grandma and friend, who left us suddenly surrounded by her loved ones on July 12, 2025 at the age of 68.
Denise was born in Brampton Ontario on November 15, 1956. Denise spent her entire younger life in Newcastle Ontario where she spent time with her mom (Ruth) and dad (Francis), sisters (Cathy, Michele) Tufford and many friends and this is where she met her partner for life Jack Chard. She grew up enjoying playing baseball and eventually travelling as a young adult and then she settled with her husband Jack in Brighton Ontario. Denise was a kind and loving individual and she was most happy making strawberry jam and pickled beets for the family, spending time with the family cooking terrific meals, and playing board and card games with friends and family. Denise enjoyed cheering on her Toronto Blue Jays with Jack and supporting Jack’s Buffalo Bills obsession. Denise really enjoyed spending time at the cottage with family and travelling with her sister Cathy to places such as Vegas.
Denise is survived by Jack Chard (husband), Ruth Tufford (mom), sister Cathy (Tufford) MacDonald and husband Ron MacDonald, step daughters Delann (Chard) Hoban and husband Gerry Hoban and Johnna (Chard) Jones and husband Garret Jones, along with our entire extended family and friends who enjoyed spending time with her and will miss her dearly.
Denise is preceded in death by her dad Francis Charles Tufford and her sister Lori Michele Tufford.
