TUQUERO, Benedicto Villanueva Tuquero

August 18, 1938 - April 27, 2026
TUQUERO, Benedicto Villanueva Tuquero

Passed away peacefully at home in Leamington on April 27, 2026, at the age of 87.

Born on August 18, 1938, in Victoria, Tarlac, Philippines, Benedicto began a journey that would take him across the world when he arrived in Canada at the end of March 1969. With determination and a steady work ethic, he built a life for his family and spent 30 dedicated years working at HJ Heinz before retiring in 1999.

Benedicto Villanueva Tuquero shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Presentacion. Together, they built a close-knit family that remained at the center of his life. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Roland and daughter-in-law Megan, and their sons Benjamin and Nicholas; and by his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Vicky, along with their children Aidan, Makana, and Sydney. He was also loved and adored by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Ambrosio Tuquero, his mother, Flaviana, his brother Jose, and his sisters Luz and Conchita.

He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an especially enthusiastic grandfather. Few things brought him more joy than cheering from the sidelines-first for his sons during their baseball, hockey and sporting days in Leamington, and later for his grandchildren, whose games he followed with even greater excitement and pride.

Benedicto was also a loyal Detroit sports fan who rarely missed a game and always had an opinion on the score. In his leisure time, he enjoyed visits to Casino Windsor, where he tried his luck at baccarat, and kept a close eye on Sports Select picks-always hopeful for a big win.

Known for his quiet strength, warm presence, and an infectious sense of humor that was recognized by all who knew him, he was above all a loving and devoted father. Benedicto will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless memories shared around rinks, ball fields, and living rooms filled with game-day excitement.

A life well lived, and a man well loved.
