VAGT, Chantale Renee Vagt
November 30, 1982 - November 28, 2025
At CCH after a courageous and hard-fought battle with IBC (HER 2 Positive Inflammatory Breast Cancer) two days shy of her 43rd Birthday.
Loved wife and best friend of Lawrence and most loved and special mother to Hudson who was her world. Greatly loved and missed by her parents Pierre and Renee Clement, her brother Andre Clement (Leslie), her sisters Elyse Lavallée (Luc) and Amy Leduc (Justin), her grandmother Eileen LaBarge, her special nieces and nephews Evelyn, Johnathan and Mason Lavallée, Annabelle, Isabelle, Mirabelle and Beau Clement, Isla Leduc and little Caid Leduc to join in March. Very special Tante Chantale to Jack and Lea Montreuil whom she loved as if they were her own. Also loved and missed by Lawrence’s family; her mother-in-law Heide Vagt and his siblings Erika Bilodeau (Pat), John Vagt (Esther), Hugh Vagt (Mansi) and his twin sister Anna Louison (McNeil). Very special Auntie Chantale to Edmond, Emily and Emma Bilodeau, Maddie, Zoe, Owen and Ella Vagt, Huxley and Vera Vagt and Lola Louison. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is pre-deceased by her maternal grandfather John LaBarge, her paternal grandparents Ervin and Irene Clement and her father- in- law Oliver Vagt.
Special thank you to her cancer care staff at CCH. Especially Kevin Jennifer and Andrea who made her comfortable throughout her treatment. Also, Dr Marie-France Savard and Dr Vimoj Nair at the Ottawa Hospital for their guidance and compassionate care.
Chantale was A member of parent council at Rothwell-Osnabruck School, helped with the scholastic book fair, coached lancer youth basketball. She helped care for her nieces, nephews and Carole’s children. She was known around our small community as the lady with the large black wagon full of toddlers.
Chantale was a selfless soul who put others before herself always. Especially her beloved Hudson and all children. She will be greatly missed forever.
Chantale’s family warmly invites all family and friends to gather for a time of visitation and remembrance at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) on Thursday, December 4th, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Celebration of life will take place on Friday, December 5th, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home at 11 a.m. followed by cremation.
In Lieu of flowers donations in Chantale’s memory could be made to Breast Cancer Canada or the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation.
