In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michel Jean Vaillancourt on March 26, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 17, 1950, in Belleterre, Québec, Michel was the youngest of four children to his beloved late parents, Théodore and Marie (Lacroix) Vaillancourt. He shared his formative years with his siblings Luella, Donald, and Gaetane in the close-knit community of Témiscamingue, Québec.

It was there that Michel met the love of his life, Jeannine (Leblanc), with whom he shared a remarkable 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love, raising their family in Oshawa, where Michel dedicated 40 years to a career at Snowden Rubber Industries/Goodall Conveyor Belting and Rubber Industries.

Known for his captivating storytelling, unwavering determination, and profound devotion to his family, Michel touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a man of integrity, guided by strong work ethics and an unyielding love for nature. His happiest days were spent fishing and hunting, or savoring summer memories at Shady Acres Cottage & RV Resort.

In retirement, Michel and Jeannine embraced a quiet life in Lindsay, Ontario, where they took pride in their beautiful home and enjoyed their well-earned tranquility.

Michel will be deeply missed by his cherished wife, Jeannine; his daughters Julie Moore (Adam) and Sylvie Yourt (Jason); and his treasured grandchildren: Ray Steele (Journi), Teela Moore, Galen Moore, Miles Yourt, Cassie Yourt, and Serenia Moore.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario, for their kindness and care during Michel’s most challenging days.

A Celebration of Life followed by an interment, under the care of Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery in Whitby, will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 11 am with memorial visitation starting at 10 am.
