VALOTTA, Caterina “Rina” Valotta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Caterina “Rina” Valotta, who left us after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 60.

Born to loving parents Maria and Filippo DeMeo(both predeceased), Rina grew into a woman known for her strength, warmth, and unmistakable zest for life. She was the devoted wife of Rocco, and the beloved mother of Thomas, whom she cherished deeply.

Rina will be forever remembered by her siblings Angela (Angelo) and John (Kimberly), and by her sisters‑ and brother‑in‑law Josie, Alba (Lou) and Frank (Gerri). She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were brightened by her presence.

An animal lover through and through, Rina will be dearly missed by her cat Phoebe and her dog Charlie, who brought her joy and companionship. Rina was known for her outgoing nature, her creativity, and her gift of gab—qualities that allowed her to connect effortlessly with others. She loved spending time with family and friends, filling every gathering with laughter, stories, and heart. Above all, Rina was a fighter: strong, determined, and resilient in every chapter of her life.

In honour of Rina’s memory, donations made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Her legacy of love, strength, and spirit will live on in all who knew her.
