VERSEGHY, June Verseghy
December 24, 2025
It is with a mix of sorrow and gratitude that we say goodbye to June Verseghy who passed away on Dec 24, 2025. June lived a life full of love, adventure, and devotion to her family, leaving an imprint on everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
In her early twenties, June was already living a life of excitementโtraveling the world, sailing across oceans to exotic destinations, and exploring lands far and wide. Along the way, she raised two children who, though often challenging, grew into adults who will forever cherish the lessons she taught them.
A dedicated mother, June was the kind of mom who always made sure to be there for her grandkids, her love for them unconditional and endless. As a Nana, she was nothing short of extraordinaryโgentle, patient, and kind, with a smile that lit up any room. Even as age began to take its toll, her memory may have faded, but she always remembered the names of those who mattered most, like the nurses and PSW workers who adored her. Even when a little cranky, June never failed to show kindness, and her stubbornness was as much a part of her as her generosity. She made it a point to smile every day, no matter what, even if it was just for a moment.
June was also a wonderful wife and partner to Frank. Together, they traveled to faraway places like Australia, Hawaii, and Western Canada, visiting family and creating memories that would last forever.
When Frankโs health made traveling difficult, June found joy in the small moments. She was a proud and loving Nana to William, Hayley, and Laurenโher heart swelled with love for each of them. She took every opportunity to visit, to be there, to cherish the time spent with them.
An accomplished woman in many ways, June had a love for old show tunes, often playing them on the piano to pass the time. She was also a Sudoku enthusiast, keeping her mind sharp. And while she may not have been the best driver, she was certainly the most fun to be aroundโand who can be great at everything?
Looking back, Juneโs parenting may have included some “questionable” methods, like the occasional use of a rolling pin, but in hindsight, those tactics helped keep her children in line and may have been exactly what was needed at the time to steer them toward better choices.
June will be remembered not for grand gestures or accolades, but for the countless lives she touched through kindness, patience, and love. She made an impact on everyone she met, and those who loved and respected her will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
Now, as June reunites with Frank, we can only imagine her dancing on a cruise ship in the sky, perhaps with Michael Bublรฉ playing in the background. We hope sheโs enjoying every moment with him and is, at last, at peace.
June, donโt sleepโyouโve earned your rest, but weโll keep partying and smiling thinking of you in your honor.
To quote two great Canadians Wayne and Garth..
