VIEIRA, Jose Henrique Nunes Vieira

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jose Henrique Nunes Vieira on March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79. Jose is now reunited with the love of his life, Alexandra, with whom he shared 34 beautiful years.

Jose was a devoted father to Gina (Joe) and Tony (Katy), and a cherished grandfather to Charlize, Quintin, and Ava. He was a loving brother to Arlete and Natalia, and is predeceased by his parents Antonio and Natividade, and sister Laura. He will be dearly missed by extended family in South Africa, the United Kingdom, Madeira, and Canada, as well as the many friends he made during his time at Lakeridge Heights Retirement Community.

Jose had a passion for soccer and rarely missed a chance to watch a match. He found serenity in nature, whether it was through camping, walking, or nurturing his vibrant garden. His love for cooking and hosting barbecues brought family and friends together often. He was also known for staying well-informed on political and world affairs, always engaged in thoughtful conversation.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their exceptional care and compassion.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2L4. A religious ceremony will follow in the chapel from 1:30pm to 2:30pm, with a reception afterward in the lower level from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation in memory of Jose.
