Passed away peacefully in his 90th year on October 11th, 2025

Loving husband of Rose Helen (nee: Desgagnes) for 69 years, beloved father of Rick (Julie), Linda and Denise (Pat), loving grandfather of Jeffrey, Danielle (Darren), Jason (Cassandra), Jessica (Chris), Tom (Renee), James (Kim), & Michael (Lesley) and dear great grandfather of 20. Ray was predeceased by his father Rene, his mother Aline and his sister, Rolande. Also predeceased by his honorary parents Andre & Rita Chartrand and special cousins Fern & Larry Chartrand. Ray will be fondly remembered by Connie (Tim) Lawrence, Florence Labreche, Joe Ruszer, Cheryl Ruszer, Tammy Mazsa & many nieces & nephews. Ray came from humble beginnings, worked hard to achieve managerial positions and owned two businesses. Ray & Rose retired very young which allowed them to travel extensively within Canada and the United States, the Bahamas, Mexico, Jamaica and they wintered for several years in Tucson. Ray was an avid golfer, pool player and horseshoe player and excelled at all three. Ray was a devoted husband and father who was a gentleman in every sense of the word. Ray was selfless, kind, loving, funny & smart and we will miss his presence in our lives every day. Many thanks to the doctors, nurses & support staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa (Emergency/G9 & 4F) for their compassionate and professional care. At Ray’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service and he will be inurned at the Bowmanville Cemetery.
