CAPPPELLO, Vitina (Vita) nee Genua – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Vita at the Willowgrove Long Term Care, on Thursday October 8th, 2015 in her 87th year. Vita will be reunited with her beloved husband the late Giuseppe (1998).

Loving and devoted mother of Tony (Karen) and Enza (Mario Cairo). Proud and adoring nonna to Sofia Cairo. Loving grandmother to Stephanie, Jack (Melissa), Andrew and Sarah.

Dear sister and sister in law of the late Massina (Pietro), the late Peter (Rose), the late Antonina (Antonino), survived by Rose Gris and the late Salvatore Genua. The late Concetta (Nicolo), the late Angelina (Giacomo), Gina and the late Gaspere, Pina and the late Salvatore, Maria (Sandro), Salvatore (Rosaria), Nicolovito (Pierina). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vita was a retired employee of Domglas Ltd. after nearly 20 years of service.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Willowgrove Long Term Care Flamborough Unit for their care and compassion especially during the past two weeks. A very special thank you to Sylvana Carpino for being Mom’s personal caregiver, companion and loving friend for the past five years as Mom took her final journey.

Vita will always be remembered for her amazing cooking and baking, especially her lemon tarrelli cookies.

Visitation will take place at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E (near James St.) Hamilton, ON on Monday October 12, 2015 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday October 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  Vigil Prayers Tuesday at 8:45 pm.

Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 East 37th St. (at Fennell) Wednesday October 14th at 10:30 am. Internment to follow.

Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or McMaster Children Hospital (Neuromuscular Clinic) would be appreciated by the family.
