Margaret M. Waller (nÊe Murrant), a longtime resident of Stratford, Ontario, passed away at Hillside Manor on March 13th, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born and raised in Port Morien, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

Margaret is predeceased by brothers Donald and John and sister Norma. She was the beloved wife of L. Ray Waller for 60 years until his death in 2014. Margaret was a loving mother to her daughter Jacquelyn, who passed away in 2023.

She is survived by her children: Heidi Holdsworth (Stratford), Edward Waller (West Palm Beach, FL), and Julianne Waller (Stratford). She was a loving grandmother to Tessa, Graydon, Luka, Jay, Paige, Madeleine, Ashley, Nicolas, and Kevan, and great-grandmother to Aleks, Mika, and Samy.

Margaret grew up with a deep love for her East Coast lifestyle. She was a bright, determined, and hardworking student who excelled in music, passing Royal Conservatory piano levels with ease. She studied to be a laboratory technician in Halifax, where she met her future husband, Ray. Together they moved to Ontario, where Margaret became a dedicated mother to four children in five years.

Margaret had a successful career in pottery, opening Unicorn Studios in 1980, which later became Pottery Five Studios. For more than 20 years, customers returned year after year to collect her intricately designed pottery, contributing to the development of York Street in Stratford.

Margaret’s family and friends will always remember her quick wit, sense of humor, and love for chocolate and sweet treats. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she gave her best to every role she embraced.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hillside for their care, as well as to Lynn Simpson for her unwavering support and love.

Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be held at Avondale Cemetery in the spring.
