It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Walter Pushkar, peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 in St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 81 years.

Walter was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 5, 1934 to Austrian Immigrants, Teodore and Katherine Pushkar.

He married Gail Diane Roberts and together they started their family. Walter worked for many years at Domtar Paper Mill in Red Rock, retiring as a Foreman in the Finishing Room.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an amazing gardener. Family was most important to Walter and he will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him.

Walter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gail; daughters Candice (Lawrence) Mazzocca and Diane (Bruce) Hogue and her daughter-in-law Karen Pushkar; grandchildren Eric and Tracy Mazzocca, Brayden and Joshua Hogue and Samantha, Bridget and Derek Pushkar as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joey Eiers and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was predeceased by his son, Jack and grandson John; son Teodore (in infancy); his parents and sister Olga as well as his brother-in-law Julian Eiers.

Funeral Services will be held in Thunder Bay ON, on Tuesday, January 5th. A private interment will take place at a later date in Nipigon.
