WATSON, George Watson

With sadness the family announces that Al passed away peacefully at Ruddy Shenkman Hospice in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 27, 2025.

George Allistair Watson, of Manotick, was 82.

Beloved husband of the late Patricia Anne (nee Inglehart).

Loved and cherished Father to Jennifer Watson (Neal Bowers) and Ian Watson (Joelle Laferriere), both of Manotick.

Special Grampa Al to Cameron and Deklan Watson, and Waylon Bowers.

Al was the son of the late Harold and Mary (nee McDougall) Watson of Smiths Falls. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Watson (late Judy), and niece Lindsay Watson.

He is survived by his brother-in-law Greg and nephews Danny and Charles Inglehart and “Aunt Iva” Laviolette of Calabogie.

In addition, his brother Doug Watson of Smiths Falls and extended family members – the McDougall’s,the Hawthorne’s, the Laviolette’s,and the Leadley’s

Having earned his 35-year pin from the federal government, Al volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity, started many home improvement projects, travelled extensively with Anne, including many trips back to Nether Poppleton, and always sought out the best pubs everywhere they went.

Al enjoyed his time at the lake in Calabogie listening to the Sheila Show on his beloved Valley Heritage Radio. The lake provided plenty of projects, and time with family and friends.

We are thankful for the friendships from Hillside Garden’s, St Leonard’s and the Manotick community.

He will be missed.

Al’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, October 19th at the Legion Branch 314, 5550 Ann St, Manotick, starting at 3pm.

Al will be laid to rest at Most Precious Blood Cemetery, in Calabogie.
