CASSIDY, Wayne C.   –

March 12, 1958 – June 22, 2023

That which brings the most joy in life brings the most sadness when taken away.

Wayne will be remembered for the way he made people feel uplifted, stronger, wiser, and happier. We left our conversations with him with lighter hearts and smiles on our faces.

To meet him was unforgettable. To have known him is to carry his indelible positive mark.

Throughout his illness, Wayne’s bravery (and stubbornness!) helped him to stay with us as long as he could, exactly where he wanted to be: with his wife, EveLynne; and the joys of his life, Dylan (Ivanna) and Diandra; along with fur friends, Fletcher at his feet, and Oscar on his lap.

Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Anna; sister, Debra (Murray); and father-in-law, Dan. Along with his wife and children, left to mourn his passing are: mother-in-law, Ollie; sisters-in-law, Lisa Patton (Rob) and Katie Gallaway (Mike). He will always be loved by nieces and nephew, Melissa, Ashley, Aaron and Allana.

Relentlessly optimistic, wise, funny, selfless, and humble, Wayne defined what it means to be a good person. Confronted with any obstacle, Wayne was adamant “we’ll figure it out.”

In true Wayne fashion, please be kind to others and raise a can of Coke in his honour.

The family invites you to celebrate Wayne’s life at a casual gathering on Thursday, July 6th, at Rivercroft & Co. located at 3171 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, ON, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with brief remarks at 7:30 p.m. We hope that you’ll prepare a favourite written memory of Wayne for collection as you enter the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting contributions for a permanent memorial in the form of a bench or trees in Wayne’s honour. Contributions can be sent via e-transfer to: waynecassidy.memorialfund@gmail.com.
