WEAVER, Carol Weaver

Survived by her children Marc and Judy Weaver of Chatham, Brad and Sue Weaver of Chatham, Leslea Williams of Croton, Patrick and Elaine Weaver of Zone Township, Tracey and Mike Curran of Chatham, Maribeth and Peter Gregor of Pickering and Michael Weaver of Chatham. A proud grandmother to 16 and great grandmother to 17.

Pre-deceased by father Thomas Moynihan of Ottawa mother Mary McLean of Strathroy, brother Patrick Moynihan, and sisters Claire King, Gloria Heyninck and Norma Moynihan. Husband and partner Tom Weaver (2003) sons Timmy (1961) David (1965) and son n law Gerald Williams (1986).

A well-read lady who loved music and a good joke, and all that knew her saw a resolve of steel packed in that wee woman. Her joy of cooking had butter tart requests still coming 50 years after leaving the neighbourhood where she and Tom raised their family. After guiding and prodding 7 children to adulthood Carol joined Tom in purchasing Weaver Valu-Mart in Thamesville. Together they thrived and flourished. Retirement found her gathering her rather large family around her dispensing wisdom, support and hugs in equal measure. And when she tired of their chatter she volunteered at St. Josephs hospital and local food banks. She was so proud and loved her volunteer time. Knowing a soul was hungry was intolerable to her.

We the family extend an open invitation to celebrate the life of Carol Weaver Saturday Feb 7th, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Victoria Ave. Chatham Ontario. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 followed immediately by a celebratory mass Interment will be for family only but we will gather after mass for food and stories (2 of her favourite things) at The McKinlay Funeral Home Reception Centre 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham. We are sure the stories will flow as copiously as the flood of brownies, butter tarts and cookies that left her kitchen with love.
