WEIR, Allan Weir

Entered into rest at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville, on February 27. Arthur “Allan” Weir of Brockville (formerly of Bishops Mills) aged 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Gail (Portieous) Weir. He was preceded by a daughter, Jane DeSousa, and survived by a son, Mark. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and their families. Allan had a deep love for animals and country music, which brought him much joy throughout his life. He was also a talented musician and proudly played in the band “The Sound Variety,” where he shared his love for music with friends and the community. In addition, Allan was an active member of the Athens Lions Club, where he contributed his time and efforts to local initiatives and causes. Allan also enjoyed woodworking and took great pride in creating beautiful pieces that reflected his craftsmanship and dedication. He was passionate about sports, especially NHL hockey and Major League Baseball, and was always eager to follow his favorite teams and players.

Allan was a long-time employee of the former Parke Davis in Brockville, ON, where he dedicated his entire working career.

He was predeceased by his parents, Franklin and Daisy (Bigford) Weir, sisters Doreen Hare, Goldie Foster, Lois Scott, and Evelyn Keays, and brothers Grant Weir, Ken Weir, and Wayne Weir.
