WHITE, Gerald Frederick White

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, in his 87th year.

Loving husband of Kathy (nee Turner) for 54 years. Beloved father of Samantha Crowley and her husband Robert, Marc and his wife Kathy of Huntsville, and Timothy of Cobourg.

Cherished Grandfather of Cameron, Benjamin, Nicholas, Claire, Tyler, Zachary, Mitchell, Connor and Gavin. Great Grandfather of Theo, Amelia and Rose.

Dear son of the late Maude (nee Cosburn) and Frederick White. Brother of the late Ronald White (Myra).

Gerry grew up in the Toronto Beaches and loved to share stories of his shenanigans in Frenchman’s Bay and at the Balmy Beach Club. Childhood summers were spent at his aunt’s resort in Haliburton on Lake Kashagawigamog and held some of his fondest memories.

Gerry was the proud owner of ‘The Spectacle Boutique’ for over 40 years. He enjoyed serving his community and loved to support the baseball teams he sponsored over the years in the City and Otonabee Leagues. Baseball was truly his favourite pass time, and he was a devoted Blue Jay fan his whole life.

Golf was Gerry’s passion, and he spent his afternoons on the fairways of Kawartha Golf and Country Club where he and Kathy were members. You would often see him squeezing out the last bit of the golf season, teeing off on crisp November day.

Gerry loved an underdog. He engaged in random acts of kindness with many of Peterborough’s less fortunate, and despite his often-prickly disposition, he had an incredibly big heart and a generous spirit.

As per Gerry’s wishes, aquamation will take place and a celebration of life will be held in his honor at a later date.

Thank you to the many family and friends who visited Gerry in palliative care, and for the thoughtful calls, messages and flowers that have been shared with his family. He was truly blessed.

Gerry’s family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to Dr. Morelli and the palliative team at Hospice where he received the most incredible care in his final days. A special shout out to Hospice staff Kathy, Lisa, Baily, Barbara and Andrea for the warmth, kindness and compassion shown to Gerry and his entire family.

In memory of Gerry, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by his family.
