Passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus with family by his side on July 13, 2025, at 95 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (née Gillespie), his “Brown Eyed Beauty” for 75 years. Loving father and hero of David Wichels (Janis), Dianna “Dee” Woods (Rod), and Donna Rivard (Ed). Partner in crime and teaching grandfather of Peter (Miera), Tara (Ken); Brian (Jenn), Amanda (Roman), Heather, Russell (Amanda); Aric (Melissa), and Dustin (Angelika).

Devoted great-grandpa of Paige, Sean, Madison, August; Ayden, Parker, Luna, Faith, Xandria, Kamden, Sawyer, the late Jacob (2013); Aidan, Hunter, and Haileigh. Survived by his sister-in-law Eileen Mancil. He will be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews.

Ron was a senior accountant at the Bank of Commerce in the late 40’s where he met the love of his life. He was Credit Manager at Riverside Utilities until 1966, then Credit Manager at Windsor Utilities until his retirement in 1989.

He was a long-standing member at New Beginnings Community Church, sang in the choir at Riverside United Church, and was a member of the Credit Grantor’s Association. Ron was always the handyman—renovating and enlarging the family home on Glidden, and later revamping the family cottage in Sauble Beach with help from his grandchildren, leaving behind a cherished legacy.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 2–4 pm & 6–8 pm. Funeral Service Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 11:00 am at Families First, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor. Cremation to follow.
