WIJNGAARDEN, Judith Van Wijngaarden

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Judi at Windsor Regional Hospital (Ouellette) on September 7, 2025 surrounded by her family. Judi was a devoted wife of 54 years to Ronald of Essex, proud and loving mother to David and Jennifer and beloved grandmother to Madison and Grace. Her unwavering support and love for her family was evident to all who crossed Judi’s path.

The oldest of seven children, Judi was predeceased by her parents Bill and Hazel and siblings Susan and James (Jim) Jansen. Judi loved spending time with her family and will be missed by siblings Carol (Wayne) Tyler, Ron (Patricia) Jansen, Carl (Kathy) Jansen and Gary Jansen.

Judi will be fondly remembered for her dedication, generosity, and service to others. Born and raised in Windsor, Judi lived most of her life in Essex where she worked as a grade 1 teacher for over 3 decades. Judi was a dedicated volunteer with Scouts Canada as a Beaver leader and organizer of leadership workshops across the county. An avid crafter and prolific knitter, Judi leaves her family with many items to ward off the cold weather.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital (Ouellette) and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital (Prince Road) for their care of Judi over the last months of her life.
