WILKINSON, Stanley George Wilkinson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley (Stan) George Wilkinson at Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering at the age of 90 with daughter Claire and son Keith by his side. He was predeceased by his wife Doreen. Stan is survived by his son Keith (Mary) and his devoted daughter Claire. Much loved granddad to Joseph and Alicia.

Born in Northampton England, he emigrated to Canada in 1957. Stan started work with General Motors, which resulted in a 30-year career from entry level to upper management upon retirement.

Stan’s degree from agricultural college led him to join the McLaughlin Bay landscape and maintenance team at General Motors Oshawa Head Office, where he worked for 30 years.

Stan was an active community member as a boy scout leader, soccer coach, Friends of Second Marsh, and St. Mark’s & St. George’s Anglican Church fundraisers and community events.

Stan was a quiet, disciplined man who was respected and liked by everyone who knew him, and he loved and supported his family. His interests included woodworking, model building, gardening and horticulture, model trains and sports.

Stan generously donated to a number of charities. For those who wish, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in his memory.
