William Doug Berkeley

Passed away surrounded by his family at Carpenter Hospice, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. Doug was sadly taken way too early, at the age of 63. Loving husband of Leslie for over 28 years. Cherished stepfather to Kristin, Katie, and son-in-law Mike. Dear brother of Debra and Don. Adored son of Bill and Margaret.

Doug was born in Hamilton on February 4th, 1962. A dog and horse lover, he spent 45 years as a harness horse trainer. Racing was his life, and he was also a huge fan of NASCAR. Doug will be remembered as a generous, loving, and kind man – a nature which extended to all aspects of his life.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses, personal support workers, volunteers, and all of the staff at Carpenter Hospice.

As per Doug’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to your local Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
