WILLIAMS, Donald George Williams
October 8, 1933 - January 17, 2026
It is with profound sadness that the family of Williams, Donald George announces his passing on January 17th, 2026, in Victoria, BC, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on October 8th, 1933, Don passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
Don is lovingly survived by his partner, Grace Lyngard, her children: Doug, Dianna (Dayton), Denise, and granddaughters; his four children: Dale (Bonnie), Nicole (Darryl), Todd (Bev), and John; as well as seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, George Lewis Williams and Charlotte Ann Williams, and his sister Bernice Pool.
Born and raised in Victoria, BC, Don pursued a trade as a bricklayer and mason after completing school. He was an active member of the affiliated union and went on to manage a major restoration project of the BC Legislative Building. He concluded his career as a Manager for BC Building Corporation at the age of 58.
Don was a dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge, devoting much of his time to lodge functions and proudly serving as a past Deputy Grand Master of District 21. In his younger years, he cherished hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed playing golf accumulating many memorable games.
Following retirement, Don traveled extensively, immersing himself in diverse cultures and nurturing a passion for art, collecting numerous pieces from his journeys. His love for projects involving brick, concrete, or stone remained a lifelong passion, a craft he often shared with his sonsβeach affectionately called βJoeβ when working alongside him.
Don lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
At Donβs request, there will be no service. Donations in his memory may be made to the Victoria Hospice Society.
