WILSON, David Ross Wilson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Ross Wilson, who left us peacefully on January 28th, 2026 at 1:35 a.m., at Parkwood Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 72.

Dave was born on October 13th, 1953 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Wilson, married since 1996 and together since 1993. Their love was filled with laughter, adventure, and countless drives with Brenda and their cherished dog, Millie.

Dave was a proud and devoted father to Maureen (Sean), Jason (Miranda), and stepfather to Chris (Steph), James (Megan), and Deanna (Chad). He was an incredibly proud grandpa to Tyler, Sammy, Janelle, Darian, Angelina, Ella, Londyn, Pierson, Kruz, Lauryn, Caine, and Daclyn, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.

He is survived by his loving mother Fran Wilson, mother in law, Norma Woodcock. Loving brother to Dennis (Gwen), and sister Tracy (Andy). Brother in law to Bruce (Veronica), Dave (Kim), Cheryl (Don) and Fred (Donna). He will be dearly missed by close relative Angus (Gus) Wilson. Fondly remembered by Donna Atkinson-Wilson, mother of his children.

Dave was predeceased by his father Raymond (Tug) Wilson, and sisters Beverly and Susan. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Dave loved the outdoors — fishing with his family, camping, sitting by the fire, and enjoying nature. He was known for his big warm hugs, quick wit, classic one-liners, and for picking his guitar around a cozy campfire. Above all, he was known for his deep love for his family and his loyal companion, Millie.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the incredible doctors, especially Dr. Vincent, as well as the nurses and staff of C7 at Victoria Hospital, and the compassionate team at Parkwood Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care and kindness.

Cremation has taken place. As per Dave’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In memory of Dave, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
