Scott Allan Winger

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Allan Winger, following a courageous but brief battle, on March 13, 2026, in his 57th year at the Norfolk General Hospital. Loving husband of Ann Marie for 29 years. Beloved son of Allan; and son-in-law of Sylvia Van Zandbeek. Scott will be greatly missed by his brother Steven and his wife Nancy. Dear brother-in-law of Mark Van Zandbeek, his wife Wendy, and Steven Van Zandbeek. Scott was the best caring uncle to Megan (Nick), Jenna, and Nicole Winger, as well as Joshua (Katie), Sarah, David, Hannah, and Josiah Van Zandbeek. He was also a proud great-uncle to Jonathan and Gabriel. Scott is fondly remembered by his stepdaughter Kathleen.

Scott was predeceased by his mother Carol (2023), his sister Kelly (2021), and his sister-in-law Jackie(2023).

For over 30 years, Scott worked with Dufferin Construction, where he built many lasting friendships. In his free time, he loved being outside, especially on the golf course. He will be deeply missed by the many friends he made there and throughout the community.

Family will receive friends on Saturday March 21, 2026, from 1-2pm at JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St, N. A celebration of his life will follow in the chapel at 2pm.
