WINTER, Francis J. Winter

April 2, 1938 - October 29, 2025
WINTER, Francis J. Winter

passed away peacefully at Albright Manor in Beamsville, ON. at the age of 87.

Loving wife to Hermann Winter for 31 years until his (way too early) passing in 1991.Β  Loving mother of Kenneth Winter (predeceased), Margaret Winter, Carrie Winter, Claudia McMaster (Doug) and Herman Winter (Liz).

Sister of Charlie Coutts (Nancy, predeceased), Anne Watson (Reg), Mickey Coutts (predeceased) (Ilene), Vivian Korte (predeceased) (Warren, predeceased), Kerry Coutts (predeceased), Mary Crouse/Rogers (Ron, predeceased, Wilfe predeceased), Jean Shadbolt (predeceased), David Coutts (predeceased)(Sharon).Β Grandmother to Sarah Krulicki (Justin), Nicholas McMaster (Agnieszka), Michael McMaster, Julia Van de Vondervoort, Mia Van de Vondervoort (Alex Stubbs), Kyle Boychuk (predeceased) and Samantha Leger (Jesse).Β Great Grandmother to Ryan and Eliana Krulicki, Peyton & Zachary Leger and Finlay McMaster.

Francis began her nursing career at Chateau Gardens in NOTL while taking many night school courses to upgrade her skills and knowledge.Β  She went on to work, for many years, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in Niagara Falls.

Francis was a very strong, independent woman who taught her children the values and ethics that brought them the success and fulfillment they all enjoy today.Β  She always helped those around her, whether it be co-workers, friends or neighbours.

She loved travelling in her younger years and enjoyed many tropical destinations, even dragging β€œBig Hermann” along at times. She visited Russia (before the Wall was down), Portugal, Spain and North Africa…to name but a few.

Francis liked being at home looking after her house, where she lived alone until the age of 83. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and doing the day-to-day upkeep of the house.Β  Francis also loved sewing, crocheting and doing puzzles (which lined the garage walls).

Francis remained faithful to the Roman Catholic church her entire life and regularly attended and donated to Our Lady of the Scapular Church in Niagara Falls.Β We take solace in knowing that her never ending faith has brought her home to those she has loved and lost. Her struggle is over, and she is at peace in God’s house.

Special thanks to the staff of Albright Manor for their care over the last few years

At Francis’s request a visitation will take place at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street in Niagara Falls, on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 am.Β  This will be directly followed with a funeral mass at Our Lady of Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, also in Niagara Falls, at 11 o’clock.Β  Her burial will take place immediately thereafter at the Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery at 1483 Lakeshore Rd. in Niagara-on-the-Lake.Β  All are welcome.
