WINTON, Beverley Ann Winton
October 21, 2025
The final chapter of Beverley Ann Winton’s Book of Life was written when she passed away, peacefully, in her sleep after a long series of health challenges on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.
Predeceased by her first son Adam, father James Winton and mother Eileen Winton. Beverley will be truly missed by her partner Peter, son Derek, brother Brad and wife Roberta and their daughters, Jaime, Kari, Jenna and families. She will also be missed by Peter’s daughter Emerald, husband Jesse and granddaughter Madelynn who called Beverley Mimi and longtime neighbors and friends Clay and Sharon Berwick.
Growing up in Agincourt she enjoyed swimming and trained to join the Agincourt Aquatic Club. During the summers she enjoyed the sand and sunsets at family gatherings in Southampton Ontario. Having grown up with Epilepsy she was a proud supporter of the Epilepsy Foundation and could be seen for many years at fundraising events selling Gladiolus.
Beverley started her working career as a legal secretary in Real Estate in Markham, moving onto working for G4S Security Services (formerly Canadian Protection Services) as a receptionist for a number of years before transitioning to a medical secretary role in a medical equipment supplier also located in Markham. Due to her health challenges, she took an early retirement which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Prior to being admitted to Ross Memorial Hospital, Beverley spent over 3 years at the Victoria Manor Long Term Care Facility in Kawartha Lakes. We cannot say enough about the kind and compassionate care Beverley received from the staff at Victoria Manor. The personal support workers, dietary, and nursing staff all worked tirelessly to provide Beverley with the best possible quality of life.
The family of Beverley Winton will receive friends at the THORNE FUNERAL HOME, 109 Laidlaw Street South in Cannington (705-432-2672) on Saturday, January 10th from 1 – 2 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Beverley’s memory to the Ross Memorial Hospital at www.wearetheross.ca.
