WRAY, Virginia Helen Wray

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Virginia Helen Wray (nee Lang) on September 4, 2025, at Bluewater Health in her 100th year. She has left us with a lifetime of precious memories.
Virginia was the devoted wife of Lavern (2018) and the cherished mother of Bob (Lee), Bill (Heather), Susan (Len), Beth (Brad), Tim (Susan); adored grandmother to Melissa, Julie, Amanda, Christine, Mark, Peter, Tyler, Kurtis, Kate, Michael and Allison and happy to be a great grandmother to 19.

Virginia is predeceased by her brothers, Wally and Don Lang. She is lovingly remembered by her niece and nephews, special friends Leota Dawson and Marsha Marion and many friends who touched her life.
Virginia’s great love was family and sharing in holiday celebrations and birthdays in person or with cards and gifts. Grandma connected with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, near and far, with steady love and interest. She had an important and lasting impact that will live on in each one.
Above all, Virginia loved people. She was interested in everyone she met and people basked in her warmth and her interest in them. Virginia was blessed with an amazing memory and had endless stories to share about the many people she had encountered during her long life. She had the gift of being able to make new friends at every stage and these friendships enriched her life.
Virginia lived a full life and she was very happy growing up in Sarnia with days filled with family, friends, school and church activities. She enjoyed her work at the Sarnia Library and then at the lab at the Imperial Oil Refinery. She married Lavern in 1946, moved to a farm, and after 62 interesting years they headed into Sarnia and took pleasure in their next chapter. Virginia and her family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers who enriched her last years.
A service will be held at a later date.
