
Dr. Tom Wright passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 93. A man of deep Christian faith and generous spirit, Tom was beloved by all who knew him.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Noon at St. George’s Anglican Church, 4691 Palladium Way, Burlington, Ontario. A reception will follow at the church. Graveside Committal Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at St. George’s Anglican Church Lowville Cemetery, 7051 Guelph Line, Milton.

Tom is remembered as a gifted orthopaedic spine surgeon, who served as a war surgeon in the Nigerian Civil War, taught at the University of Toronto and Toronto Western Hospital, and mentored many generations of surgeons.
He also supported the National Ballet School, Canada’s National Badminton Team, and cared for patients with scoliosis and spina bifida. Tom lived a full and adventurous life, including global travels, canoeing, gardening, beekeeping, and woodworking at his farm in Creemore.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Montizambert) Wright for 46 years (predeceased 2003), and is lovingly remembered by his children Janet (Paul), Ian (Kaethe), and Margot (Rob); grandchildren Jonathan (Becca), Cameron (Arpita), Caity (Jared), Chloe (Paul), Anya, and Talia; and great-grandchildren Samuel, Abram, Winnifred, Elijah, and Grace.
Tom was a devoted member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Ontario Pioneer Camp, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, and SIM International. He found joy in faith, family, and service.
