WRIGHT, Peter Paul Wright

Lovingly known as Pete, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2026, while vacationing in Thailand, celebrating his 70 years on this earth. He was taken from those who loved him far too soon and well before his time.

Born on January 17, 1956, in Liverpool, England, Pete carried his Liverpool roots with pride throughout his life. His love for his hometown was a major marker in his identity.

Pete was a devoted husband to Marilyn Burbidge, a proud and loving father to Rebecca and Matthew (predeceased), and an even more proud and deeply loving Papa to Grace. His family was the center of his world, and nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with those he loved.

He is survived by his siblings Bernie, Helen, Paul, Henry, and Joan, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and in laws on both the Wright and Burbidge sides of the family. Pete’s love of family and friends extended far and wide, and he treasured those connections deeply.

Pete was Known for his love of football (soccer), golf, and all things sport.

He had an ability to light up any room with the biggest smile no matter where he went. Pete leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering enthusiasm for life.

He will be deeply missed, passionately remembered, and vibrantly celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with doors opening at 12:00 pm.

If possible, for those who attend the funeral, in honour of Pete’s love of Liverpool Football Club, wearing a piece of red clothing would be appropriate.
