YOUNG, Ivan Earl Young

Peacefully at Hospice Peterborough with his family by his side on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in his 94th year.

Ivan was the beloved husband of the late Ila Young. Loving and devoted father of Larry Jeffery (Colleen Mills), Pam Struwing (Peter), and Bryan Young (Susan). He was a cherished grandfather to Christopher Jeffery (Margrete), Katelyn Hurst (Bobby), Alex Struwing, Christopher Struwing, and Adam Struwing. Proud great-grandfather to William, Norah, Grayson, and Bennett.

Dear brother of Carl (Mary) and Stan, Ivan was predeceased by his brothers Clarence (Marjorie) and Raymond (Doreen).

Ivan was the proud founder and owner of Peterborough Pool and Patio, a business he built with dedication, integrity, and hard work. In his earlier years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator throughout Canada and the Bahamas, embracing adventure and opportunity wherever it led him. He was also the author of A Roads Scholar, sharing stories and reflections from his life well lived.

Community was at the heart of Ivan’s life. He cherished his second family at the Fowlers Corners Lions Club, where fellowship, service, and friendship brought him great joy over the years.

A Celebration of Ivan’s Life will take place at the Fowlers Corners Lion Hall, 959 Meadowview Rd., Omemee, on May 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m.
