ZILNEY, Florian Lucien Zilney

Passed away peacefully in Barry’s Bay on Saturday, February 28, 2026.  He is survived by his loving wife, Marcella (née Hudder), his daughter Linda (Jerry Ludgate), and his son Carl. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (née Stoppa) and Jacob Zilney; his brothers Billy and Kenny; and his sisters Margaret Lorbetskie and Julie Prince.

Florian spent his life working in the bush — a hardworking man who took great pride in his work and his home. He loved gardening, cutting wood, and keeping the lawn neat and green. His quiet dedication and love of the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. A spring interment of his urn will be announced at a later date.

In memory of Florian, those wishing may consider a donation to the Madawaska Valley Hospice or St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
