With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Renato Di Zio on February 12, 2026, at the age of 81.

Born on June 17, 1944, in Loreto Aprutino, Pescara, Italy, Renato carried the warmth, strength, and traditions of his homeland with him throughout his life. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife, Livia for over 50 beautiful years — a partnership built on love, loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support.

Renato was a loving and compassionate father to his son, Carlo, his daughter, Sandra, and son-in-law, Tracy, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Kyle and Ryland. He is survived by his dear sister, Iolanda, in Italy. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Mafalda, Guido, Luigi, Marino, Silvino, and Fioravante.

Renato was more than a barber — he was a fixture in his community. For decades, he served generations of loyal clients with skilled hands, an open heart, and a ready smile. His barbershop was not just a place for a haircut, but a gathering place filled with stories, laughter, and friendship. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued.

An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Renato found peace and happiness in nature. He loved the quiet of the woods, the sun shining in the morning, the companionship of his dogs, and a good day on the golf course. Whether sharing a humorous story, being a wonderful listener, offering advice, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, Renato was often the centre of a good laugh. His warmth, humor, and quiet strength will be so fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Above all, Renato will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, caring zio, and loyal friend. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and in the countless lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are welcome to Bernardo Funeral Homes (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Renato will then be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery (8361 Yonge St., south of Highway 7).

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Renato may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
