Riley JoanRILEY, Joan Marie   - 1933 - 2022  Joan died peacefully, in the company of her 3 children, Nancy (Dyson), Peter and Paul, on May 4th, 2022, in Oakville.

She leaves behind a loving family that she adored and joins her husband, Dick, of 61 years.

Joan loved being in the company of her family and all their dogs.

She will be dearly missed by son-in-law, Don Dyson; daughters-in-law, Mary-Ellen (French) and Suzanne (Gunson); and loving grandchildren, Ryan, Devin, Meghan, Rachel, MacKenzie and Sydney.

A very special thank you to all the staff at the Kensington Retirement Home in Oakville, who treated our mother so well for the last 2 ½ years.

Joan, who loved Toronto, followed Dick through a career change to Guelph, where she would spend 50 years before moving to Oakville soon after Dick's passing.

She was a lifelong volunteer for various causes, most notably at St. Michael's hospital in Toronto where she faithfully commuted from Guelph and volunteered for over 30 years.

Joan leaves behind smiles on everyone she met.

She had a memory for detail like no other and often surprised people with details of their life that they had long forgotten. In her humble way she touched so many people.

She will be missed. Joan and Dick loved family trips to Cape Cod and traveling through New England. Joan also loved dogs.

Arrangements with Oakview Funeral Home in Oakville.

In lieu of flowers, please send any donation in kind to the Oakville's Seeing Eye Dog program.
